Racial preferences in obamacare:  American Thinker

Obviously, discussing race in America is a hazzardous thing, and racial politics is not something you are likely to see discussed openly at your doctor's office.  But I included this peice from the American Thinker as food for thought.  A few short years ago when I went through eye school, we had some minority students in our class who struggled disporportionately through school.  Not surprisingly, the admissions policy for our school gave enough extra weight to certain races that it became possible to be underqualified in any of the other admissions criteria.

We at SouthWest Vision have been openly critical of obamacare for many reasons.  Removing merit from the process of gaining access to the medical professions seems profoundly disturbing to me--enough to comment on it out loud here.  Affirmative action is controversial enough when it involves jobs where lives are not on the line.  But do you want your doctors unprepared to take your life in their hands?
