If you are experiencing flashing lights, sudden vision loss, wavy vision, painful red eyes, any discharge, unusual light sensitivity, or any injury to the eyes, then call our office immediately or see your regular eye doctor without delay.  435-673-5577.

The sudden loss of vision can be a frightening event.  Any sudden loss of vision is a true emergency that needs to be evaluated and the reason for the loss established.  Your eye doctor will want to know when it started, how long it lasted, where you were, what you were doing, and a description of what you observed, or what part of your vision is affected.

Some common reasons for sudden, painless vision loss (aside from injury) are listed below:

  • Stroke inside the eye or brain

  • Carotid artery blockage

  • Macular Degeneration

  • Diabetic eye disease

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Ocular migrane

  • Temporal artery inflammation
